In common with anyone asked to be Lay Rector for a Cursillo weekend, I felt both honoured and daunted! I still feel myself to be a fairly new Cursillista, having made my Cursillo at #49 at Aylesford, but I knew I would have the support both of a lot of people with a lot more experience than I have and, even more, of God who had called me to this work for Him.

A lot of prayer and preparation goes into a weekend, and I was really blessed by the amount of effort and time put in by my wonderful team, who ranged from those new to staffing to those who had themselves been Lay Rectors. Our training days helped us to bond as a team, ready to meet our Pilgrims on the Thursday evening.

Our Pilgrims were as varied in age, background and experience as the staff, and it was wonderful to see how they all blossomed over the weekend, both spiritually and artistically! There was laughter, intense concentration, emotion and an openness to the whole experience which was amazing (and I'm not just talking about the Pilgrims, either!).

The Clausura at the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Ospringe, was a wonderful and fitting celebration of an inspiring weekend and a perfect send-off for our new Cursillistas at the start of their Fourth Day.
